Syndal Baptist Church has a BIG network of care known as BIG Care!
BIG Care = B+I+G Care
B = Best Care
Best Care happens in great Small Groups, where those who know you best know best how to care for you.
Best Care usually happens in the ‘everyday stuff of life’ as group members interact with each other and share life together.
Some Small Groups are for people from specific age, stage, gender or language groups, while others have diverse and/or multicultural membership.
I = Intensive Care
Intensive Care happens in times of crisis, challenge or change, when you are not in a Small Group or when your Small Group is unable to meet your needs.
Intensive Care usually happens in homes or hospitals, or wherever the care is needed.
Intensive Care includes visits, phone calls, cards and prayer support, along with practical help such as transport, meals, childcare and gardening.
G = General Care
General Care happens routinely and/or regularly for everyone, whether you are in a Small Group or Intensive need, or not!
General Care usually happens at the Church Centre in relation to events and activities that take place there.
General Care includes a warm welcome, clean facilities, name tags for everyone, Welcome Folders and Care Cards, updated information on the Information Desk & Notice Boards, well kept gardens, provision of refreshments … and everything else that generally says, “We care”.
Intensive Care and General Care
are predominantly administered through willing volunteers who join Care Teams in their area of interest. As needs arise, volunteers are invited to help. They are encouraged to say “Yes” when they can and “No” when they need to, without any sense of embarrassment. It’s a team effort and we work together to support and encourage one another as we are able.
