Syndal Baptist Church relies on the teams and volunteers who help run our services, ministries, and maintenance. Explore the areas below and find where you'd love to jump in. If none feel like the right fit, get in touch so we can help you find your place!
Service Production
Help us run our services well — from screens and streaming to audio, photography and the creative arts.
Multimedia Team
Every service involves the display of media on screens. We need people with the technical skills to click through the song lyrics and the sermon slides. Contact: Pete (pburrows@sb.org.au).
Stream Team
We stream our services every Sunday, and we would love to grow our team in this area. Contact: Fiona (fbrown@sb.org.au).
Audio Team
The Audio team sets up and manages the audio equipment during a service. This involves setting up microphones, mixing the band during worship and ensuring the audio runs smoothly during the service. Contact: Pete (pburrows@sb.org.au).
Photography Team
We love capturing moments at Syndal, so if you have photography experience we would love you to join our photography team. Contact: Fiona (fbrown@sb.org.au).
Creative Arts Team
Our Creative Arts team helps with services and special events. Including singing, band, visual art, drama, dancing — we'd love to hear from you. Contact: Kerry (kwalmsley@sb.org.au).
Connect Team
Whether people are new or regular, we want everyone to feel like Syndal is their home. We need teams who will greet and connect with people before and after the service — standing at the door saying 'hello', and helping people connect into the community through conversations and introductions. Safe & Enjoyable Experiences
Help make Syndal a warm, welcoming and safe place — from the cafe and morning tea to first aid and the car park.
Cafe Team
Help serve coffee, other drinks and food to those who visit our onsite Cafe. Contact: Tanya (tgrandin@sb.org.au).
First Aid Team
At all of our services and events we need someone who is on call for First Aid Assistance. People on this team need to have a level 2 first aid certificate. Contact: the church office (admin@sb.org.au).
Car Park Team
Offer people a friendly welcome as they arrive, help people find a park safely and help visitors and newcomers know where to go. Contact: Larissa (lwanstall@sb.org.au).
Morning Tea Team
We'd love you to consider joining the team that sets up, serves and cleans up these stations, while also offering a warm smile and welcome to those you meet. Contact: Mandy (mstark@sb.org.au).
Set-Up & Maintenance
Keep our grounds and facilities in great shape, and help us prepare for worship together.
Gardening Team
Just like at your house, lawns keep growing and gardens can run wild without being tended. Contact: Peter (pburrows@sb.org.au).
Facilities Maintenance
Are you a bit of a handy-man or handy-woman? We need you to help us maintain our facilities! Contact: Pete (pburrows@sb.org.au).
Communion Team
Once a month, at each of the Sunday services, we serve communion. We're in need of teams. Contact: Larissa (lwanstall@sb.org.au).
Discipleship & Outreach
Walk alongside others as they grow in faith — through life groups, playgroup, youth and COACH.
Life Group Leading
If you are interested in helping others connect more with God and each other you might want to consider leading a life group. Contact: Mandy (mstark@sb.org.au).
Playgroup
Playgroups run during the week and we need people willing to run these groups by running crafts, reading stories, singing songs and helping build relationships with parents in the group. Contact: Larissa (lwanstall@sb.org.au).
Fuel Youth
Friday night Fuel and Sunday Infuse teams are in need of some extra leaders. The team works with high-school aged students, helping them build strong relationships with one another and with Jesus. Contact: Way (wlim@sb.org.au).
COACH Team
COACH assists individuals and families who are experiencing challenging times and who are seeking positive change in their lives. Trained volunteer mentors provide support and empower people to create a brighter future for themselves. Contact: Rosie (rmerrigan@sb.org.au).
Tribe Kids Team
We need help in our kids programs at both our 9am and 11am services, working with different age groups in roles like check in, technology, teaching, worship, or running activities. You can help out weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Contact: Gillian (gcarne@sb.org.au).
