Where every person matters
Foodbank exists to assist members of our local community with material relief in the form of food and various other needs. It's also our priority to offer care for the 'whole person', and we love to chat and look for ways to support our clients beyond food parcels.
To make an appointment at Foodbank, call Steve through the Syndal Baptist Church office on (03) 9803 9144.
COACH assists individuals and families who are experiencing challenging times and who want things to be better. Trained volunteer mentors provide support, and empower people to create a brighter future for themselves.
COACH is a mentoring program available to people in the church and community and would love to hear from you if you are interested in either being mentored or becoming a mentor.
Matrix has taken a few forms over the last few years - from lunch gatherings, to coffee catch ups.
But whatever its form, Matrix is a place for members of our community to connect over a cuppa and a chat.
To find out the details of our next Matrix gathering, contact Steve on (03) 9803 9144.
As part of our commitment to caring for people in all aspects of life, we regularly offer courses through Community Care that aim to help equip people with valuable life skills.
We regularly run the CAP Money course, which helps people better understand and manage personal finance. We have also recently run The Happiness Lab, which is a course helping people think through where happiness might be found.
To find out if any courses are running soon, contact Steve on (03) 9803 9144.
When people visit us at Community Care, one of our highest priorities is to show care for them in whatever experiences they are facing.
This may involve simply chatting and listening, offering resources or prayer (if it is requested).
We'd love to support you through the challenges in your life.
We have a small and dedicated team of crafters who love to make quilts for people who are facing challenges in life. Whether exam stress, health challenges, grief, relationship breakdown, financial pressure or loss of employment - each quilt is made with prayer for specific people and situations, and members of the Syndal Baptist Community pray for the needs raised.
If you'd like to request a quilt for yourself or someone else, contact Rosie at rmerrigan@sb.org.au or call (03) 9803 9144.
We are able to assist our clients with referrals to other organisations and services as needed.
One of these is Karinya Counselling Centre - which is next door to Community Care. We can help people access discounted counselling support through this great organisation.
