Offering help and support to the community when it's needed most.
Here are a few ways we might be able to support you.
Community Care aims to care for members of our local community through pastoral support in times of crisis. We also aim to connect people through referrals to other services, advocating on their behalf at times. We aim to provide services in a safe, warm, and friendly environment that is always respectful, fair, and equitable to all clients.
Foodbank seeks to care holistically for people who are facing tough times, offering care in many ways. But we especially seek to meet the physical needs needs of the client by providing food and other items needed for a person's wellbeing and health.
Karinya's team of trained Counselors and Psychologists provide a safe space for individuals, couples, and families to work through various challenges, emotions and thought patterns they may be facing.
Karinya is a warm and welcome environment and is located next to our church building.
They'd love to chat with you about your needs and how they might support you in whatever you are facing.
Every year, people from other cultures and languages move to Melbourne. Adjusting to the English language and Australian culture can be a little overwhelming. Our Conversation English classes exist to help newcomers to our country overcome some of these challenges through relaxed classes and conversation partners (tutors). Classes are flexible and structured to suit the specific interests and needs of students, from beginner to advanced levels.
COACH assists individuals and families who are experiencing challenging times and who want things to be better. Trained volunteer mentors provide support, and empower people to create a brighter future for themselves.
COACH is a mentoring program available to people in the church and community and would love to hear from you if you are interested in either being mentored or becoming a mentor.
At Syndal we offer a number of opportunities to request and receive prayer. We have a prayer ministry where you can submit a written prayer request or schedule a time to be prayed for by a small group of committed pray-ers. We also have a 'Prayers and Squares' ministry, where quilts can be requested for people facing difficult circumstance. The patchwork quilts are created and prayed over by the group and the wider church.
