A space for women
In a home, the Lounge Room is where you relax, where you kick off your shoes after a long day, where you chat with friends over a cuppa. It's a place of connection and comfort.
Our hope is that at 'The Lounge Room', women of different generations, cultures and backgrounds can experience that same feeling as we gather. Whether you’ve been walking with Jesus for a long time, or have no faith background, you’re welcome.
The Lounge Room runs 3-4 times a year and will always involve delicious food and drink, fun connection opportunities and encouraging content relevant for women.

If you would like to ask Kim Smith a question, you can complete a short form via the link below.
You can choose to submit your question anonymously, but Kim will only be able to reply directly if you submit an email address.
Where permission is given, we will collate the questions and Kim's answers into a resource which we will share next week via our Lounge Room email list, and make it available via the webpage sb.org.au/loungeroom. All questions will appear anonymously in the resource.
Our Lounge Room events happen because of the help of many people. Some contribute to catering, some to setting up or packing up, some contribute flowers, others help make guests feel welcome.
If you'd like to be part of supporting The Lounge Room through serving, click the button below and complete the SBC Volunteer Application, selecting 'Lounge Room' as the area you'd like to serve in.
We love getting together at the Lounge Room, but we'd love women to find community and connection at Syndal beyond our 3-4 events a year. Below are some of the ways you can get involved at SBC.
If something we shared in The Lounge Room has stirred up emotions or thoughts which you would like some help processing, we encourage you to consider making an appointment with one of the wonderful counselors at Karinya Counselling Centre, located on Syndal Baptist Church property.
You can visit their website and make an appointment via the button below.
Alpha is a short 8 week course inviting people to explore questions of faith and life. It's a relaxed and fun way to explore the Christian faith with others who are asking similar questions. The course usually runs in person, but is also occasionally run online. The course is entirely free and all are welcome.
KYB is a Bible study group for women which meets on Wednesdays during the school term. The sessions run from 10-11.30am onsite at Syndal.
If you'd like to know more or join, contact the church office on (03) 9803 9144.
Life Groups are smaller groups of people who meet regularly to share life together and encourage one another in faith.
We have a thriving community of Young Adults, aged 18-30ish. The group meet regularly in smaller groups (Life Groups) during the week, but also periodically meet together in the church cafe for dinner and fun.
Our Youth Ministry, Fuel, is a great place for High School aged people to connect, have fun, and learn more about Jesus.
They run a variety of different events and smaller group gatherings during the school term, and run a weekend camp once a year.
Syndal runs midweek playgroups where children under 4 years old can enjoy crafts, free play, and story time while parents are able to connect with other mums and dads.
We have great facilities for kids and families to enjoy!
Our 60+ ministry is a collection of different connection opportunities including the following:
