Across these two months of the year, as a church we turn our hearts towards the growth of God's Kingdom through mission globally and locally.

We invite you to be part of it.

In June, our focus is on our investment in the Kingdom of God growing locally.

Throughout this month, we are inviting you to PRAY for our impact in the local community, to GIVE to the work we are supporting locally, and inviting you to consider whether you might like to serve in one of our local community ministry areas.

Pray

During June, we invite you to join us in prayer for the work being done locally to reflect the love and care of Jesus.

We have put together a 7 day prayer plan which you may like to pray on repeat throughout June.
As we pray together for God's Kingdom to grow locally, we align our hearts with God, and pay more attention to how he is as work all around us.

Serve

God wants us to serve wherever we are planted.

God has placed Syndal Baptist Church in the Glen Waverley area for a reason.

For almost 70 years, Syndal has been serving the local community and investing in its people. We have been involved in schools, sports clubs, neighbourhoods and local lives for a long time, and we want that to continue.

While there is limited opportunity to serve at Karinya Counselling Centre, both Community Care and School Ministry are great places to volunteer.
If you sense that Jesus might like you to get involved personally in serving our local community, click the button below and fill out the simple form. Someone will be in touch soon to talk to you about how you might help.

I want to get involved

In May, our focus is on global mission.

Throughout the month, we are inviting you to PRAY for global mission, GIVE to global mission, and invite God to speak to you about whether he wants you to GO into mission in some way.

Pray

During May, we invite you to join us in prayer for God's mission.

We have put together a 7 day prayer plan which you may like to pray on repeat throughout May.
It's a chance for us to pray together for the good news about Jesus to spread both locally and worldwide, to listen to God about how he'd like us to invest financially, and to invite him to guide us in how he'd like us to be on mission personally.

Rural Income Generation in South Asia (Tax deductible)

GIVING TARGET: $12,500

This long-term project continues to transform the lives of B people through practically improving food production, sustainable livestock rearing and farming initiatives. Improving these techniques leads to increased income for families which changes their future and that of their children and generations to come. Meetings are held with community-based organisations who identify participants and the types of programs needed in their area, then those that are able are included in training sessions throughout each year (usually 10-15 people at a time), creating long-term sustainable change.

With community involvement and focused training, this project provides increased technical knowledge and skills for local people in their areas of need as well as increased staff capacity building for facilitating training and monitoring.

To-date, more than 18,000 B people have been impacted through rural income generation initiatives!

GO

Jesus' commission to make disciples of all nations is a commission for all believers.

That means that we are all called to actively seek to share the good news of Jesus - for some that will be in our local context, and for others that will mean going to new communities and countries.
This May, we invite you to be talking to Jesus about where he is inviting you to 'go'.
We have listed some questions below which you may wish to take to Jesus in prayer and listen for his answers.

If you sense God nudging you to explore cross-cultural mission, or even full-time mission her in Australia, we recommend you hit the button 'I want to talk to someone about mission' (below).
One of our Missions Task Force (people who LOVE helping SBC grow in our missional work) will be in touch to arrange a time to chat so you can share your questions and thoughts, and they can help you find resources and support you on the journey.
