You may feel more comfortable in one of our congregations which speak a language other than English.
You can find out more about these congregations by clicking the buttons below.
Click the items below to help you as you plan your time with us.
Our church carpark is located at the rear of our building and can be accessed via Tricks Ct.
There are marked spaces for seniors, disability and for parents with prams at the top of the carpark.
Our 11am service on Sundays is our busiest time in the carpark, and we recommend arriving 10-15mins early to make sure you get a spot.
If you arrive and the carpark is full, there is also carparking behind the Chinese restaurant on the other side of Blackburn Rd, or further down Blackburn Rd there is parking at the Palms Food Court.
On Sundays, we have gatherings in different languages. There will be people to direct you when you arrive, but here is some information to help you know where to go.
English 9am, 11am & Korean Service | West Auditorium
At the top of the main car park, follow the pathway between the playgrounds. Through the doors and walk up the stairs.
Cantonese, Mandarin and English 5pm Services | East Auditorium
At the top of the main car park, head right, through the courtyard and up the stairs.
Children's program | Ground Floor
At the top of the main car park, follow the pathway between the playgrounds. Through the doors, turn left and you will find our Tribe Check-In Desk. The Tribe Leaders will show you where to go from there.
Lift Access | West Wing
At the top of the main car park, follow the pathway between the playgrounds. Through the doors, turn left and you will find the lift on your left.
When you arrive onsite, you don’t need to check in, but we’d love you to do so via me.sb.org.au. This helps us care better for all who visit us.
You will see eQR codes displayed around the premises on the TV screens.
On Sundays, our Connect Team will be ready to help you if needed.
Babies & Toddlers
In our East and West Auditoriums we have spaces with glass walls where parents can sit with their kids and watch the service. These rooms help prevent sound carrying into the auditorium so you can relax while your kids play. There are adult chairs, couches, and children's toys.
Pre-School & Primary Children
Our Tribe kids program runs every Sunday during school terms at our 9am & 11am services and is open to kids from any congregation.
Children will need to be registered in order to attend the program. You can do this on a Sunday, but you can also do it before you arrive.
Youth
On Sundays, we encourage youth to attend the adult service. During school terms, high school aged kids meet in the courtyard before the service and sit together in the English service.
We have a great youth group (Fuel) which runs on Friday nights, and to find out more about click below.
School Holidays
During school holidays we encourage children and youth to attend the service to worship together as a family. Kids activity booklets and colouring pencils are available for primary children to do during the sermon.
You may wish to arrive slightly early so you have time to chat to one of our Connect Team on the way in. They can answer any questions you have and show you to your seat.
If after the service you have any questions about Syndal, about Jesus or would like to get connected, you can chat to one of our Connect Team who are wearing 'Here to Help' lanyards.
Our Cafe is open after the 9am and 11am services for tea, coffee and cake and is a great place to relax or talk more with people you may have met in the service.
You might be wondering what you can expect from one of our English services. Here are some things which are regular parts of our gatherings.
2-3 worship songs at the beginning. People will usually be invited to stand by the worship leader. You are welcome to stand or sit.
Someone will welcome everyone from the stage and share any relevant announcements for the week, and then lead a time of prayer for 2-3 minutes. You may wish to close your eyes and bow your head during prayer, but you are certainly not required to participate.
One of our Pastors or a guest will speak for 25-30minutes. This is usually part of a sermon series and involves helping us understand what the Bible says about certain things. You can check out past sermons via the button below.
On the first Sunday of each month we share Communion together. This is special practice for those who follow Jesus, and involved eating a small piece of cracker and some grape juice as a symbol for our acknowledgement of his death for us. We are currently using small disposable communion packs which you will be given at the door. You are welcome to decline and we encourage you to do so if you don't claim any faith in Jesus.
The worship team will usually close the service with a song, again inviting everyone to stand.
There will be opportunities to have someone from the prayer team pray for you personally or to talk about what you've heard.
For those with mobility issues
If you are entering the church from the bottom floor (carpark level), you may wish to use the lift to get to the upper floor (to access the Auditorium). It is to your left when you walk in the doors through the playground.
One of our Connect Team will be nearby to help you use it.
You can also access the top floor via the ramp to the entrance on High Street Rd, but this is best used in the case of being dropped off by someone who parks elsewhere, as this ramp needs to remain clear in case of emergencies.
The auditorium itself has plenty of space for wheelchairs and the Connect Team will help get you settled if needed.
Audio Loop
For those with hearing aids, we have an audio loop situated in the section directly in front of the sound and media desk (which is in the centre back of the room).
If you sit here, you should be able to hear amplified sound more clearly.
Yes! Anyone is welcome to join us, regardless of beliefs, dress, history or culture.
There's no dress code, so wear whatever you're comfortable in, and you don't need to bring anything with you.
There's no expectation or pressure for you to participate in aspects of our service (such as singing, prayer, giving or communion), you are welcome to simply sit and observe if you wish.
If you are unsure what you believe, or don't share our beliefs, we still hope that you feel very welcome with us.
